We had an excellent July 4th week-long adventure at Deep Creek. We did some ATVing at Western Trails, watched the fireworks at Wisp, got to do some white water rafting at ASCI and kayaked across Deep Creek lake. The best part of the trip might have been soaking in the hot tub after the day was over. Our cabin rocked! This was also the first vacation where we got to bring our dog Patty along!

Lots of parts in motion right now, so hopefully there is some balance that comes of it all. Winter was a bit slow (work wise) so I’m happy for the change of pace! Bring on summer (and the warm weather!)
We had a multi-bday event at La Palapa in downtown Ellicott City. Great time and my little girl is making me sad as she is growing up so stinking fast! They had a nice Christmas display so we took the opportunity for a photo. My back was to the lit fireplace and it was very toasty!
I love this time of year, the changing of the leaves and the crisp air. Pumpkins, apple flavored everything. Living in an area with four seasons gives you rewards all the way through the year. We have a special anniversary approaching, our 20 year is right around the corner.
Well, this year I did something I’ve never done – ride a horse! We did the Western Trails excursion and it was a blast. I quickly got over my childhood fear of getting kicked in the head and let the horse do the walking. More important, my daughter got a chance to bond with her kindred horse spirits! I had originally intended to go white water rafting, but the resort closed down ASCII this year. I heard a roomer that county legal squabbles were the culprit. We got to spend some time at the Spruce Forest Artisan Village, another first. …
Here are some flowers from around our property!
