Obituary for Shirley Dawn Mizrahi
In Loving Memory of Shirley Mizrahi
Beloved Mother
June 29, 1949 – October 10, 2025
Shirley Mizrahi passed away peacefully on October 10, 2025, at Hope Hospice in Lehigh Acres, Florida, with her son by her side.
Born Shirley Dawn Turner on June 29, 1949, in Parsons Green Hospital in Fulham, London, she was the daughter of Flo and Bill Turner and grew up alongside her siblings, Jacqueline and Barry. She attended Richmond Road Secondary School in Kingston and later completed her education at Grey Court Comprehensive School in Ham, Richmond. At just 17, Shirley embarked on an adventure to New York City, where she became a nanny for a prominent family through a placement agency. It was there she met the love of her life, James (Jim) Mizrahi, thanks to a connection made through her aunt’s hairdresser—Jim’s
mother, Kay.
In 1972, Shirley and Jim welcomed their son, Stacy, and two years later, the family relocated to Lehigh Acres, Florida. Shirley worked as a secretary for the Lehigh Corporation and was deeply involved in her community. She served on the Lehigh Spring Festival Committee and was a proud den mother for Cub Scout Troop 7. In her later years, Shirley found joy in genealogy research, gardening, and playing card games with friends. Her warmth, humor, and curiosity left a lasting impression on all who
knew her.
A private online memorial will be held on October 18, 2025 11am EST. To attend or share
