We did a 2 hour whitewater tubing trip in Harpers Ferry today. Our trip started at 10 am and as it turns out, we were the only ones there! I talked to one of the outfitters and he told me that the weekday mornings are very sparse. I didn’t imagine them being this sparse, though! We damn near had the river to ourselves! I saw only 2 other tubers from another rafting company and before we landed I saw a few white water rafters. It was a beautiful day with clear skies and air temp in high 70s. Winding down through Harper’s Ferry, Meghan and I both caught holes that sucked us into their vortex. Took quite a while to get back out, had me realizing how terrifying being out there by yourself can be when there are no guides or other boaters/tubers.
