Shades of Green at Disney

Posted on June 20, 2023June 24, 2023 by admin

Our Disney experience has been pretty memorable thus far. I’ve had a chance to experience new and amazing rides and park sections (Tron, Guardians of the Galaxy and Pandora). But perhaps the most amazing thing has been our resort, Shades of Green. Not only is this resort located with of the magic kingdom, it’s both beautiful and cheap! The Magnolia restaurant provided one of our best meals of our entire trip. Their are two pools and the largest had a killer water slide – with an amazing sports bar in walking distance. I highly recommend this place to anyone who …

Emotional Outrage Machine ™

Posted on June 10, 2023June 10, 2023 by admin

I occasionally do a little writing on my Freethinking Page. I have always tried to remain objective on a great many subjects. Trying to cut through the muck becomes both an intellectual endeavor and a way of deconstructing my own perceptions. In a world where everyone is being sold ideas, I choose to be a picky consumer. My latest piece is on the Emotional Outrage Machine ™

Flashback to Seminole Club days

Posted on June 4, 2023September 20, 2023 by admin

Back in the days when I was president of the Seminole Club of Baltimore, the Baltimore Sun had interviewed me regarding Bobby Bowden. I think everyone had a sense back then that things were coming to an end. It was an emotional time for fans and alumni. http://archive.today/apmhI

Flashback to Saxotech

Posted on March 22, 2023March 23, 2023 by admin

Came across these old photos from my days at Saxotech. That’s me with my brother-in-law on the Starship II cruising around Tampa Bay. We had a fun but short time with Saxotech; shortly after they had acquired DSI (which both of us worked at), a venture capital firm bought out Saxotech and its competitor. Alas, it was liquidation time after that for the top heavy sales dept. Saxotech was fun and I actually learned a lot in my short time with them. Unfortunately, it also represented the end of my very long career at DSI. The HQ may have changed …

My Darling Wife Joins the OId Person Club

Posted on February 19, 2023February 19, 2023 by admin

We had a great night out at Sakura and pigged out on steak. The entertainment from the Chef was top notch. The chef had 5 chances to toss shrimp into Pam’s mouth. Each time Pam would catch the shrimp in mid aid with her hands and eat it. Fun times!

Happy Halloween

Posted on November 1, 2022November 1, 2022 by admin

This was my best attempt at doing the Grinch. Doing makeup yourself is kind of fun but it got a little frustrating as I tried using pencil makeup kits which are more akin to crayons. What I really needed was a bush kit. Lesson learned.

Memories of the Seminole Club

Posted on August 30, 2022September 1, 2022 by admin

Just came across an old FSTimes newsletter from back in 2009. I really miss those days. We we killing it in the ACC and I looked forward to our biannual game at U of Maryland. Prior to being president, we would meet down at the Stained Glass Pub in Only, which was so far from Baltimore that we would have sparse turnouts. After various location moves, we started doing game watching parties in downtown Baltimore. It was a blast, that fun seems like a distant memory now.
